The topic we chose to deal with as part of the final project in the Milab prototype is Medical rehabilitation with an emphasis on physical therapy and facilitating the progress of the rehabilitation process among the patient.

The first step we have done is to conduct some personal interviews with patients who have undergone rehabilitation and physiotherapy and with professional physiotherapy. The second step was to conduct market research on the products and solutions that exist in the physiotherapy world.

The top customer needs/challenges we found in our research are:

- Assistance in cases of a lack of motivation in the customer, which is an essential building block for the continuity of their home exercises and the recovery process in general.

- The lack of profound personal assessments and reflections of the patient’s current status, progress, and future aims.

- Assistance on the professional’s end, in cases of misunderstandings or movement mistakes while performing home exercises.

- Time management issues which lead to skipping required home exercises.

From the conclusions we found in our research work, we created Persona

Ronny is 43 years old; she has 3 kids (4,7,9), lives in Modi’in and works as a marketing manager at a hi-tech company. 3 months ago, Ronny had a car accident - a jeep hit her vehicle from behind. As a result, she got taken to the hospital because she got injured in her lower back and her right wrist. After she went out of the hospital, Ronny started physiotherapy treatments once a week. Even though she got back to work, Ronny is still suffering from back pains that also influence her mental well-being. Between her demanding job and being a full-time mom, Ronny has a difficulty finding time to do the home exercises that her physiotherapist instructed her to do.

How might we encourage users to stick with their home physiotherapy exercises, outside the training hours with the therapist, while providing professional evaluation and reflection, in order to advance the patient's recovery process and improve their mood and well-being?
